Steps to Apply for MPJE & NAPLEX
If you’re preparing for pharmacy licensure in the United States, applying for the MPJE (Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination) and NAPLEX (North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination) is a key step. Follow this simple guide to ensure you meet all requirements and deadlines.

Step 1: Check Eligibility Requirements
Before you apply, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria:
- Graduation from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program. 
- Completion of required internship hours as mandated by your state board. 
- Foreign graduates must pass the FPGEE and TOEFL iBT (if applicable). 
Contact your state board of pharmacy for specific requirements.
Step 2: Create a NABP e-Profile
Visit the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) and:
- Create an e-Profile account. 
- Ensure all personal information is accurate and matches your identification documents. 
Your NABP e-Profile is used to manage your applications and exam history.
Step 3: Apply for Eligibility Through Your State Board
You must request eligibility to test from your selected state board of pharmacy:
- Visit your state board’s website and submit the required application. 
- Pay applicable state fees. 
- Upload required documents (transcripts, hours, etc.). 
Each state has its own approval timeline, so apply early.
Step 4: Apply for NAPLEX and/or MPJE in NABP Portal
Once your state board confirms your eligibility:
- Log in to your NABP e-Profile. 
- Select NAPLEX and/or MPJE. 
- Submit your application and pay the NABP exam fees: - NAPLEX Fee: $475 
- MPJE Fee: $150 per jurisdiction 
 
You will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) via email once approved.
Step 5: Schedule Your Exam with Pearson VUE
Using the ATT:
- Go to the Pearson VUE website. 
- Choose a test center and available date. 
- Confirm your appointment. 
Bring valid photo identification and arrive early on the exam day.
Step 6: Prepare for the Exam
Study using trusted materials:
- Review NAPLEX competencies and MPJE state-specific laws. 
- Use practice tests, study guides, and flashcards. 
- Track your progress and focus on weak areas.

Step 7: Receive Your Scores
- Scores are typically available within 7 business days in your NABP e-Profile. 
- Passing score: - NAPLEX: 75 or above 
- MPJE: 75 or above 
 
- If you fail, you may retake the exam after the required waiting period (usually 45 days). 
Step 8: Complete State Licensing Requirements
After passing both exams:
- Submit any final paperwork to your state board. 
- Pay licensure fees. 
- Receive your official pharmacist license!
